This affordable kitchen makeover kept the boxes and replaced what you see — new doors, wood skins, and end panels. This kitchen did not need new boxes. The layout worked. The carcasses were square. The owners wanted it to look finished without paying for a full custom remodel.
That is the only time an affordable kitchen makeover is actually affordable: keep the boxes, replace what you see, upgrade how the doors close. If the boxes are swollen, racked, or the layout is the problem, refacing is a nice skin on a bad cabinet. We will tell you which one you have.
A different Klein reface — different house — is here: cabinet refacing in Klein, TX.

What we did
- Skinned the existing upper and lower boxes in real wood so the sides matched the new doors
- Built new doors and drawer fronts to that skin
- Added matching end panels so you don’t see leftover box ends
- Installed European soft-close hinges
No layout move. No slab cut. No new cabinet boxes. That is why it stayed in the refresh band instead of a mid-range remodel. Planning numbers for that band live on the Spring kitchen remodel cost guide.
Before / after

When this is the right job
- Boxes are solid and square
- You like the layout
- You want new doors, hardware, and a clean face without a two-month kitchen remodel
When it is the wrong job
- Particleboard boxes that have already swollen
- You want more drawers, a real pantry, or the sink in a different wall
- You are trying to make stock boxes look like custom for resale next year
If that’s you, start at custom kitchen cabinets or the cabinet refacing guide. Don’t buy a facelift twice.

How this sits next to a full remodel
Refacing is not “custom cabinets for cheap.” It is a controlled refresh. Full custom is the other product. Same shop either way. We would rather push you up a band than wrap a box that will look tired in three summers of Houston humidity.
