2026 paint-grade rate (unpainted)
| Piece | What’s in it | 2026 rate |
|---|---|---|
| Uppers or lowers | Birch box, maple face frame, doors, 3D drawing, build, install, crown. Soft-close European hinges. Full-extension slides (soft-close). | $250 per linear foot |
| Deep island | Same build, extra width | $500 per linear foot |
| Drawer box | Box + front | $150 each |
| End panel | Finished end so you don’t see the box | Starts at $175 |
| Upper taller than 48″ | Counted as two rows (base upper + the extra height) | $250/LF per row |
| Deeper than 23.5″ | Extra-deep box | Priced on the job |
| Blum undermount slides | Upgrade from the included full-extension soft-close | Extra — priced on the job |
| Stain-grade | Species and finish | Call. No number on this page. |
An upper over 48″ tall is two rows of $250, not one expensive wall. Example: 10′ of 54″ uppers is 20 LF, not 10.

Paint-grade means built to be painted. The rate is unpainted. Paint is separate, whether we do it or you hire a painter.
Linear feet: each upper run and each lower run count. A 10’ wall with uppers and lowers is 20 LF, not 10.
Demo and haul-off are not in the $250. Priced on site.
Why other shops quote $500 a foot on a normal wall
You’ll see $500 a foot, unpainted, on a normal run of uppers or lowers. That is not our wall rate. Walls are $250. Deep island is $500 because the box is deeper — same build, extra width.
Example math (boxes only — not a quote)
Unpainted. No end panels. No demo.
| Kitchen | LF + drawers | Planning total |
|---|---|---|
| Small galley | 16 LF + 6 drawers | $4,900 |
| Typical kitchen | 28 LF + 10 drawers | $8,500 |
| Larger kitchen | 36 LF + 14 drawers | $11,100 |
That table is a snapshot with no island, no ends, no demo. Most kitchens we hang land near $20k in boxes before paint — two rows of uppers, a wide island at $500/LF, end panels, old boxes out.

Paint
Paint is not in the $250. A whole kitchen of doors and boxes usually runs $8,000–$12,000, us or an outside painter.
How this page relates to the kitchen remodel guide
Cabinet-only pricing is unpainted wood: $250 per linear foot ($500 on a deep island), $150 a drawer, ends and demo extra. Most kitchens we hang land near $20k in boxes before paint. Paint is usually $8,000–$12,000. The $30,000–$55,000+ custom line on the kitchen remodel cost guide is full service — boxes and paint together.
Don’t add the two pages together and call it a bid. This page is the box line. That page is the room.

From that we can usually tell if it’s a $250/LF job or a “keep the boxes” door job before anyone drives out.
