Custom Guest Vanity for a Space Nothing Ready-Made Would Fit

Pedestal sink. No storage. Walls that don’t meet at 90. That is not a Home Depot opening.

Before and After

Before — guest bath with a black pedestal sink, no vanity, and walls that meet at an angle.
Pedestal sink. No storage. Angled walls.
After — custom stained wood guest vanity built to angled walls, installed and waiting on the granite top.
Custom vanity in the same footprint, before the top.

We measured the lengths and the angles, built the box in the shop, and set it in the room. Doors, a drawer, bun feet. Waiting on the granite in the after shot. The cabinet already owns the corner.

Why a store vanity dies here

A boxed vanity is a rectangle. Semi-custom is still a rectangle with nicer doors. This room isn’t a rectangle. The walls kick in on both sides. Force a standard box in there and you get gaps, a filler strip that looks like an apology, or you leave the pedestal and keep living with no place to put a towel.

We took the angles off the walls and built those angles into the cabinet. Left return, right return, face in the middle. That’s the whole trick.

Built in the shop

Same process as the kitchen work. Face-frame box, raised-panel doors, drawer up top, bun feet so it doesn’t look glued to the tile. Stained and cleared in the shop — including the interior — then hauled in as a finished piece.

unfinished: Custom guest vanity assembled in the shop, still raw wood, bun feet on.
stained: Stained custom guest vanity on the bench, ready to install.

This is the job when the room is the problem

Guest bath, powder room, a leftover sliver next to the shower. If a catalog vanity almost works, buy the catalog vanity. If the walls argue with each other, we build the box.
